Equipilates™ for Horses

Classical equitation- ethical education for horses

Equipilates™ for Horses is a system of training which makes a high level of performance and partnership available to every horse and rider combination.  It is based on the French Classical principle of 'Légèreté'- lightness.  Personal potential really can be realised- all the things which you may have struggled to interpret or implement in your riding start to make sense.  Lindsay takes care to ensure that you have a good understanding about what you are aiming to achieve in your schooling at each stage; horses are educated to the aids in a clear and logical way so that progress can be made without force or fight, confusion or frustration- just simple mutual respect and communication.  If you are interested in learning to ride this way, contact Lindsay- also read 'Twisted Truths of Modern Dressage' by Philippe Karl.  It is an eye opener!

Your training often involves some training in-hand- a valuable skill which saves hours-weeks-even years (!) of wasted time- to explain to your horse exactly what you require of him, so that when you get on he already has a better understanding of your goal.  Ridden work in légèreté produces horses which are light in the hand, confident to take the contact, very responsive to the leg and wonderfully athletic- you know that amazing trot that your horse can do in the field where he seems to float?  This way of training means you can ride that trot- and what's more, he wants to give it to you!
